I'd love to read that study on planet health. I'll see if i can find it online. It would be interesting to see cause general perception and I guess what we are led to believe is quite the opposite. You've got my interest Peaked.
I guess living in suburban/rural new jersey. Im right on the cusp of both the rural area and the area leading to heavy suburbia, so like wise our animals like deer are stuck in this half world too. They end up eating a lot of garbage and man made waste. I know part of my town is a chemical red zone from factories dumping + leaks from 50+ years ago. We got heavy metals in the ground water the works. theres multiple SuperFund sites in the area.. so of course this has its reprecussions on the wild life and people in the area. many people didn't switch from well water to city water till well after ground pollution was discovered.
There are clean areas but, wild critters just get into everything.
Lot of parasites too, ticks + fleas are really heavy on these animals. Lots of deer for a small area of woods and nature i guess puts in its own form of checks and balances..
thansk for the tip on the water repellant. I'll definitely give it a shot. I should get some for my hiking stuff now. I end up getting soaked enough as it is.
Thanks,
Pete
