Another run

Postby LDS on Thu Jun 25, 2009 10:44 pm

The Jeep is packed and waiting.

We have a short run this weekend. Talked about that already didn't we.

There is a new tent to set up. That is always a challenge. I also made a new heavy hauler for toting firewood and jerry cans of water around these stationary camps. It fits the slide in cargo rack and the jerry cans will sit on top of it so it will not take up any unnecessary room.

Did I say I added 1500lb booster springs to the jeep? I may need coil over helpers to go with them. Some for the front too. I could haul moonshine in this thing and no one would notice it dragging the ground.

I like to live in comfort while practicing staying alive with nothing.
OK, what's the other plan!

Well, a year ago today I was packed and waiting for my wife to come home so we could take off for this camp. It was a good weekend. We camped with lots of friends, taught a lot of people skills and had a great time. Weather was perfect, camp was great.

This was the one she did not make it home from. We got the truck packed up at the end of the camp and headed home. An hour latter she was in the ER.

This has been a really rough year. You guys have helped me handle it. I appriciate your patience when I was whiney. I have "real people" in my "real world" that have helped me too, but I don't really think of you guys as being in far away places or being unknown entities floating in electromic space. I have imaginary faces I connect with each of you and can imagine you going through some of the actions and activities we talk about. I can imagine Dixie sweating it out down south and King and Coon looking over their shoulders to see if they are about to get caught doing some foolishness. Then there are the guys in Europe and the ones in OZ.

This place has turned into extended family. A really wierd family.

Thanks for the patience.
