I know of several. Most any petroleum based product like petroleum jelly, some petroleum hand soaps, and so on. These will take a spark and light. The SAS Survival Guide (John "Lofty" Wiseman) lists three mixtures Potassium Chlorate + sugar @ 3:1 ratio, Sodium Chlorate + sugar @ 3:1 ratio, and Potassium Permanganate + sugar @ 9:1 ratio. Potassium Chlorate is found in some cough drops, Sodium Chlorate is a weedkiller, Potassium Permanganate is found in some first aid kits for disinfection and as an antiseptic. These have to be mixed carefully and avoid contact with metal. These can be ignited by grinding with rocks or under a friction point. Sodium Chlorate ignites from percussion or striking it. Do not shake, spill, or step on it.
I have not tried any of these but might at some point. Has anyone here ever used these or similar?
