cool thanks mate i would really appreciate that! :) oh man.. sad about the bear, i would love to have a job like that tho.. i think the risks of working with wild animals are well outwaided by the rewards, being able to be in the presence of such awesome beings.. would be amazing :D

hey coon,
Could you forward me a copy of that diagram too? like was mentioned, knowledge is power, and having something like this in the arsenal sure would be usefull at somepoint. .. some pesky neighbor, or catch the boss in the bathroom stall
but seriously this seems like a powerful trap. It maybe leading me into more large game trap research.

Yea working with bears like that face to face would be incredible.
Some guys have the coolest jobs. those two are definitly in the club.
How high's the water, Mama?

yea post pictures of that when you make it that would be cool I'd be interested in the material your going to use. As for my large game trap pictures I'm trying to find free time to get those done I know its been taking me awhile. I would have done it today but its raining hard like hurricane type of rain. Sundays going to be nicer out but I've got a school project to get done plus were carving pumpkins for halloween that day. So I'll have the trap built and pictures taken monday I'll post them in this thread.

[quote]Saw a report on PBS about two guys studying grizzly in Alaska. they were using leg hold snares too. They would tranquilize the bears and install radio collars.

One got after them and they had to shoot it. They were disapointed over having to do so but realistic enough to know it had to be done. You have to be in close proximity to do their work and it is only a matter if time before one of then taks a run at you. One of them was carrying a 12ga pump gun and the other a rifle, the caliber i do not remember./quote]

interesting... an environmental group that actually knows what they are doing. i want to see a PETA sponsored enviromental group try to catch and study bears that would be the funniest thing to watch...

MR. BEAR!! WE ARE YOUR FRIENDS!! PLEASE LET US BECOME ONE WITH YOU SO THAT WE MAY STUDY AND PROTECT YOUR MAJESTIC KIND!! look! look! hes listening to us!! hes bowing! aww hes running at us to give us a hug! *chomp *slash maul* dead hippies :D
