Tomorrows the opening day of bow hunting season for buck in pennsylvania. Its the best time of the year for me this is usually the best time to shoot a deer in PA the woods are still quiet and the deer haven't all been killed off yet. Gotta take SATs in the morning then I'm getting in a treestand.

I was addled for three days afte I took SAT. That was 40 years ago and I still remember it! I think I went home and took asprin and slep till the next day. ACT was actually worse.

That was when I found out that I tested aout better than most other people. Not any smarter, I just do a good test. I was a mediocre student back in the day. Spent more time in the woods than I did in the books.

I once realixzed I was suposed to be taking an exam while floating down the Stones River in an inner tube. I made it to the test, and passed, but it really messed up a good float trip.

That's the one I took. Then came college entrance exams (tests) even after doing well on the ACT and the zillions of other exams that followed. Written exams alone are a poor measurement of learning ability. Most are taken under poor conditions and/or stress that does nothing to improve mental judgment, in fact the opposite. Grades should be given based on combination of abilities including exams. Classroom work, research work, homework, etc. in addition to exams for a well rounded grading scale. Unfortunately most grading scales used are exams only.
