fasting for 70 years

Postby Kingoftheflock » Thu Apr 29, 2010 10:19 pm

this guy has claimed to been without food or water for 70 years by meditating every day. they are monitoring him for 3 weeks to see if the claims are true. if an average person could do that, it would be a massive advantage in a survival situation. its worth a look for all of you interested

Fasting is much like a bad marriage.

It wasn't really 70 years, it just felt like it.

according to the SAS survival handbook a person can survive three weeks without food but only three days without water. I'm certain science has proven that humans need to eat and drink to live so I don't believe him.

However being able to survive without food or water would make life easier wish it was true :D

Being somewhat of a foodie, I don't think I'd want to survive without food. But..., I have no interest in again eating the some of things I ate in survival schools - particularly porcupine and tree anteater.

You cant expect to rely on science all the time, there are things out there we cant explain, no matter how many calculations are ran. sometimes i think "logical thinking" is actually stubborness coupled with disbelief. but in this sense, its probably a hoax.

well yes you must take into account the fact that scientific theories aren't always 100% correct they develop them based on their evidence but Science is always evolving and correcting itself. For awhile we figured the earth was flat then we corrected ourselves and now know the earth is infact round based on the new evidence we discovered. There are certain subjects that science has developed theories on that don't have alot of supporting evidence and those kinds of theories are the ones you might not want to put your faith in, just yet anyways. As for the human body we've been studying that for years and years we know how dependent our bodies are on food and water so yea this guy is probably a media whore looking for attention I don't buy it. I'm shocked anyone's taking him seriously!
