Fire - Hand Drill

Floating Hand Drill - Movies

Here are several movies showing the floating hand drill technique. All demonstrations are by Rob Bicevskis

This first movie is more of an overview of this technique. It shows Rob using the floating hand drill technique at normal speed. It shows Rob maintaining the location of his hands at one level on the drill.

Windows Media format (WMV), 320x240, 985KB, 14 seconds

This movie shows how it is possible to actually work your way UP the drill while spinning it. One wouldn't normally do this - it is shown here to illustrate that it is indeed possible with this technique. Although this could be useful if you have allowed your hands to move too far down the drill and need to work them back up without stopping the spinning action.

Windows Media format (WMV), 320x240, 1.1MB, 15 seconds

This one shows the floating technique being used on a very short drill.

An additional technique being employed in this one is to use the fleshy part of the palms at the base of the thumbs to help keep the hands at the top of the drill.

Windows Media format (WMV), 320x240, 1.8MB, 25 seconds

A slow motion demonstration of how a single hand tends to move UP the drill using this technique.

Windows Media format (WMV), 320x240, 630KB, 8 seconds

A slow motion demonstration showing how both hands tend to move UP the drill using this technique.

Windows Media format (WMV), 320x240, 450KB, 5 seconds
