Lyme Disease

Lyme Disease is becoming a major concern for people who spend any amount of time in the bush, particularly in areas more to the south. However, it is present in southern Canada.

The following articles and pamphlets contain much information about Lyme Disease and the ticks that spread it.  Please bear in mind the various cautions that they contain.  Some advise the use of insect repellents containing DEET.  Please note that there is some evidence that this chemical may have serious negative effects on its users. Use it with care!
